The Foodie Edit: 18 June

What’s new in the world of food events, pop-ups, products and restaurant openings

It’s National Martini Dayon the 19 June so it has to be our cocktail of the week. The American Bar at The Savoy serves the best classic Martini, a bespoke creation served in a Grey Goose Baccarat crystal glass and garnished with caviar stuffed olive. Blade Soho where you can have your hair styled and then enjoy a cocktail has teamed up with Teapigs to create a special Earl Grey MarTEAni for guests of the Blade Hairclub.

With the news that Andy Murray is back in action this week at The Queen’s Club, head on down and check out the tennis alongside a cocktail or two at the fabulous Bunga Bunga pop-up, in residence all week until the final on the 24 June.

South Place one of our favourite hotels in the city is transforming their Secret Garden, an oasis of waterfalls and palm trees, into a slice of Acapulco from 29 June to the end of August to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the Margarita cocktail. Expect tropical vibes on Friday night from the resident DJ, Mexican inspired brunch on Sundays and Margarita masterclasses with Cointreau #southplacehotel #margaritalovescointreau

Now this is what we call self-catering. Guests of luxe holiday specialists, Cornish Gems, can now enjoy a private dining experience hosted by award-winning chef Ben Tunnicliffe from the comfort of their holiday home. Ben was one of the first chefs in Cornwall to receive a Michelin Star and owns the renowned Tolcarne Inn in Newlyn. Lucky guests will enjoy a bespoke dinner party menu with sommelier-matched wines for a memorable feast. From £100 per person.

Who wouldn’t want one of these beauties in their kitchen? New from those Italian design gurus at Steel, you can choose from four different finishes including chrome, brushed nickel, brass and brushed bronze. Not only can you choose from a variety of finishes including exclusive Le Creuset colours, you can customise the trims, handles and knobs. From £2550.
