Valentine’s Day Edit

This week romance is in the air with some hot tips for eating out and staying in with the foodie in your life

Kick start your romantic celebrations with a toast to the one you love with a glass (or two) of Classic Pink Gin, £35, from The English Drinks Company and indulge in the oh-so-delicate smooth flavours of pomegranate and chinchona bark.

In the stylish interiors of Savile Row’s Sartoria, Chef Patron Francesco Mazzei has created a decadent four-course menu that is sure to pull on the heart strings. The pièce de resistance is Francesco’s Raffaello chocolate dome; a white chocolate sphere encasing a pistachio caprese sponge and Ferrero Rocher Rafaello, served with a warm berry coulis.

If chocolate is the way to your lover’s heart then they’ll love this divine chocolate mousse dessert, part of the six-course Valentine’s Day tasting menu at Corrigan’s in Mayfair.

Enjoy the panoramic view at Skylon on the Southbank and indulge in a five-course menu by Executive Chef Helena Puolakka. Dishes include a decadent plate of butter poached lobster, tender salsify, golden beets, cherry puree and lobster consummé and a white and bitter chocolate and rose marshmallow dessert to share.

Claude Bosi at two-Michelin star Bibendum is offering the ultimate nine-course Valentine’s Day tasting menu including some of his signature dishes such as Cornish cock crab, smoked kipper, artichoke and truffle dumplings, South Coast monkfish, miso and pear beurre blanc.

Pick up sweet treats from the Tom’s Kitchen delis in Chelsea, Canary Wharf and Birmingham to take home including red velvet cupcakes, strawberry and chocolate tarts or heart-shaped macaroons.

Wales
For a spectacular setting near the coast and the Snowdonia National Park, Ynyshir Gareth Ward’s stunning Michelin-starred restaurant with rooms, is hard to beat to treat your loved one. His cooking is sublime and well deserving of the accolade No1 restaurant in Wales.

Scotland
Nestled in a candlelit basement venue on St Stephen Street in Edinburgh, The Stockbridge Restaurant was voted in the Sexiest 20 Restaurants by The Times and makes for the perfect romantic evening.

Take your taste buds on a tantalising tour of Scotland at Wedgwood the Restaurant with the six-course tasting menu. Expect the unexpected with Lobster thermidor crème brûlée, and Mull of Kintyre cheddar and onion bread and butter pudding.

And if you fancy staying at home… how about ordering something from our favourite online meat retailer Farmison & Co who have teamed up with wine and spirit merchants Berry Bros. & Rudd to create a series of Matches Made in Heaven. There’s even a Love Birds Breakfast in Bed box, all delivered to your door. Click here to order.
